SAP IMPLEMENTATION & ROLLOUT
SAP Implementation That
Delivers What It Promises
We run SAP implementation programmes with the governance, rigour, and functional depth that enterprise projects demand from initial blueprint through cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
FRAMING — THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE
SAP implementation is one of the most significant technology investments an organisation makes. The risk of scope creep, budget overrun, and underperforming deployments is well-documented — and almost always traceable to the same root causes: insufficient upfront design, poor configuration quality, inadequate testing, and under-resourced change management.
Techdean's implementation practice is structured to address each of these risk factors directly. We bring functional depth — not just project management — to every engagement, ensuring that the system is designed, configured, and tested to meet real business requirements before a single user goes live.
We do not treat go-live as the end of our accountability. We treat it as the beginning of the system's working life — and we remain engaged through stabilisation and into managed support to protect the investment.
IMPLEMENTATION METHODOLOGY — 6 PHASES
PHASE: 01 PROJECT INITIATION & GOVERNANCE
Project governance setup — steering committee, RACI matrix, delivery cadence, and escalation protocol. Team mobilisation, tool access, environment provisioning. Project plan baselined and agreed by both parties.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Signed Project Charter
- Detailed Project Plan (Microsoft Project or equivalent)
- Risk & Issues Register (initial)
- Governance Framework Document
- Kick-off Meeting Notes & Actions
PHASE: 02 BUSINESS BLUEPRINT & DESIGN
Structured requirements workshops across all in-scope business areas. AS-IS process documentation, TO-BE process design, and fit-gap analysis against SAP standard. Solution design documented to a level of specification sufficient to govern the build phase. Sign-off required from business process owners before build commences.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Business Blueprint Document
- Fit-Gap Analysis
- Process Flow Diagrams (AS-IS & TO-BE)
- Functional Specifications (custom/enhancement)
- Data Migration Strategy Document
- Integration Design Document
- Authorization Concept
PHASE: 03 BUILD & CONFIGURATION
SAP system configuration per approved blueprint. Custom development per agreed functional specifications. Integration build and unit testing. Data migration mapping and trial loads. Configuration documentation maintained throughout.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Configured SAP System (DEV environment)
- Unit Test Results
- Custom Development (ABAP/Fiori)
- Interface Build & Test
- Data Migration Trial Load Results
PHASE: 04 TESTING
SAP system configuration per approved blueprint. Custom development per agreed functional specifications. Integration build and unit testing. Data migration mapping and trial loads. Configuration documentation maintained throughout.
KEY DELIVERABLES:

- UAT Test Scripts & Results
- Defect Log & Resolution Record
- Performance Test Results
- UAT Sign-Off Document
PHASE: 05 CUTOVER & GO-LIVE
Cutover plan developed and rehearsed in full before execution. Data migration executed per cutover plan. Go-live readiness assessment and checkpoint approval. Controlled cutover to production. Hypercare support in the 2-4 week post-go-live period — elevated support coverage with rapid response SLA.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Cutover Plan & Rehearsal Results
- Go-Live Readiness Checklist (signed)
- Data Migration Completion Report
- Go-Live Confirmation Document
- Hypercare Support Log
PHASE: 06 STABILISATION & HANDOVER
Post-hypercare issue resolution. Knowledge transfer sessions with client IT team. Completion of all project documentation. Lessons learned workshop. Formal project closure and transition to ongoing managed support (if applicable).
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Issue Resolution Log
- Knowledge Transfer Records
- As-Built Configuration Documentation
- Lessons Learned Report
- Project Closure Certificate
APPROACH: Brownfield Conversion
Technical migration of your existing SAP ECC system to S/4HANA, preserving existing configuration, customisations, and historical data. Lower business disruption and faster timeline — but requires careful simplification of legacy technical debt before conversion.
APPROACH: Selective Data Transition
Combines elements of greenfield redesign (new processes, cleaned configuration) with selective migration of historical data from the legacy system. Maximum flexibility — but highest programme complexity. Requires experienced leadership to manage well.
APPROACH: Global Template Rollout
Deployment of a standardised SAP template — typically developed in a parent company or pilot entity — to additional subsidiaries, regions, or business units. Each rollout includes local configuration, data migration, training, and go-live support.
